Consumerism twists our perception of reality and happiness. Gluttony is a forgotten sin. Our unredeemed habits keep us in the prison of mental anguish and very often we try to resolve most of our problems solely through psychological means. The Church has its saints and its heritage about delivering people from the darkness of lies, demonic powers and improbable situations through fasting and prayer. We deny its power because we want to preserve our way of life in the 21st century, we are afraid to inject our expectations with the Scriptural commands for the fear that Jesus will turn our convenient life upside down. We will talk about fasting as the weapon of self-discipline, love and a background to a simple Christian lifestyle. #onlyloveremains
