DIY: How to Pray and chant the Liturgy of the Hours?

You must pray at all times and not lose heart.
— Lk 18:1

Imagine Christians chanting Psalms and Canticles anytime and anywhere. You don’t need an instrument, you don’t need a sound system, you don’t need lights or smoke machines. The instrument will be your voice and the drama of the Word will be performed through your lips, from your heart. We were made to join Christ in singing in our homes, in our neighborhoods and city halls, on the streets and in places of work, 24/7 around the globe.

Did you know that Liturgy of the Hours (LOTH), also known as Divine Office or Breviary, is the liturgical prayer of the church that lay people can lead and pray with or without the clergy? It’s also the official public prayer life of the Church and one of the most ancient formula of prayer for people who want to sing the Scriptures, learn how to stay in the Presence of God and live being saturated in the Word?

Did you know that Jesus sang Psalms on the daily basis and the Church is joining Him now in a song of praise, around the clock, round the globe, 24/7?

Did you know that for centuries Christians worked and prayed, ministered and chanted the Psalms on a daily basis according to the daily rhythm and liturgical seasons?

Did you know that everyone can learn to chant LOTH in under one hour?

I have successfully trained and released lay people to pray, chant and lead LOTH in parishes, homes, communities and neighborhoods.

In 120 min session you will find explanation to:

  • the Jewish roots of LOTH

  • the dynamic of chanting the Psalms and Canticles

  • how to sanctify your time and all your activities by praying the LOTH

  • how to chant at home, on your own or with your family or friends

  • why Psalms should be sung, not recited

    We will end with practicum of chanting Night Prayer and guidance for further LOTH prayer practice;

You will also receive an outline and a link to the video from the session.

Download iBreviary app (that’s all you need)

I would like to whole-heartedly recommend a resource for learning to pray the Liturgy of the Hours, created by a married couple whose perspective and ministry Joe and I have been profoundly blessed by for over a decade. Their combined experience draws from the most beautiful, rich and wondrous currents of both Catholic and Evangelical Christianity. They are disciples of Jesus who continually and radically sell all for the pearl of great price, putting their lives in God’s hands for His glory and to make the Good News transformative for all they encounter.
Their ministry is offering this resource to the world at a time when it is greatly needed and helpful. We prayed Night Prayer along with Iwona last night, after which my seven year old daughter pleaded, “Mom, I want to pray like this ALL THE TIME.
I hope you will consider receiving the gift of this course, at a small cost that is beyond well worth it!
